Drag shapes to dissolve and repurpose the site of racial, sexual and gender-based violence

Manhattan Detention Complex (The Tombs) incarcerates 900 people, most of whom are pre-trial detainees. A recent proposal would triple MDC in size. There are many ways to conceive of how economic, political and physical resources from prison abolition can be reclaimed, and through this map, I aim to explore how the MDC could be repurposed spatially. Through this interaction, we might imagine the spatial consequence and possibilities of this site after the end of pre-trial detention and cash bail.
